Relationship between seed disinfection and occurrence of "bakanae" disease in paddy fields

The present investigation was conducted to know the transition of occurrence "Bakanae" disease in paddy fields and the movement of Fusarium moniliforme Sheldon in rice sheath, in case of several seed-disinfectants used to the seeds inoculated with Benomyl-resistant isolates. 1) The rate of occurrence of "Bakanae" disease in paddy fields was higher in the section of Benomyl-thiram than the others used as seed-disinfectants to the seeds inoculated with Benomyl-resistant isolates. 2) The peak of occurrence of "Bakanae" disease in paddy fields was three times found at 20 days after transplant, maximum tiller number stage and boot stage. 3) There was no isolation fusarium moniliforme Sheldon from the sheath section at 10 days after transplant when seed-disinfectant used. For 20 days after transplant, Fusarium moniliforme sheldon was isolated from the lower sheath position which seemed healthy. The rate of detection shows the following tendency: Section of Benomyl-thiram section of captan-thiabendazole = section of triflumizole. 4) The elongation of rice plant by the drench of gibberellin solution was maximum at the time of the last bearing tiller emergence to maximum tiller number stage
