A study on leaf area, leaf relative growth rate and leaf chlorophyll content on carambola cv. B-17 leaves was conducted at Fruit Research Station, U.P.M. Serdang, Selangor. Leaf area which was used as an indicator for leaf expansion was highest 5 weeks after emergence and at the time maximum chlorophyll content was observed. Leaf chlorophyll content decreased after six weeks of leaf emergence, suggesting a probable change in its role from source to sink
