While various forms of improvements have been applied both by the government and private sectors to enhance cocoa yields to provide better economic returns, the declining prices in the face of increasing cost factors, have imposed sceptism on this one time 'Golden Crop'. Many growers including some of the larger Agencies have opted to switch to growing of other crops instead. In the light of this scenario, governed by the present economic uncertainties, a review, tapping a practical planter's experience on appropriate agronomic inputs and cost considerations involving the different activities and the fine essence of management is described in this paper
