Recent interest in soil micronutrients has focussed on chelating agents such as ethylene diamine tetra-acetic acid (EDTA) or other complex solutions for extraction. These have shown limited success compared with simple dilute acid such as 0.1m hydrochloric acid in Papua New Guinea conditions.
