A 2 x 3 factorial experiment in a completely randomized design was conducted to evaluate the interaction effects of variety and dietary treatment on the laying performance of Tsaiya ducks. Six treatment combinations of variety (Brown, White) and diet (sub-optimum, optimum, commercial) were made. Each combination was replicated three times with four ducks and one drake per replication. Significant (P0.05) interactions were noted on hen-day egg production and feed consumption. No interactions (P0.05) were noted on feed efficiency, body weight, egg weight, yolk color score and shell thickness. Consistently heavier (P0.05) body weight and egg weight were observed on white Tsaiya variety. Consistently better feed efficiency, heavier eggs and thicker egg shell were noted on both ducks fed either the optimum or the commercial diet.
