Effect of differentiated nitrogen-potassium fertilization on the yield of onions grown for set

The experiments were carried out on mineral soil with a moderate content of macroelements. Mineral fertilization was applied in the following doses: 75 kg N/ha (N1), 150 kg N/ha (N2), 50 kg P/ha (P), 100 kg K/ha (K1), 200 kg K/ha (K2). The following treatments were applied: (N1)P(K1) (N1)P(K2), (N2)P(K1), (N2)P(K2), (N0)(P0)(0) (control sample - without fertilization). It was found that mineral fertilization, irrespective of the dose in a particular treatment, caused a considerable loss of plants. The highest loss (30 percent on the average) was registered at the nitrogen dose of 150 kg/ha. No significant effect of mineral fertilization on the total yield of onions grown for sets was observed. However the highest marketable yield and its best structure were obtained without mineral nutrition and with nutrition at the lowest doses of macroelements (N1)P(K1)
