Effect of nitrogen rates on Striga asiatica emergence in maize culture in Togo
1991
Agbobli, C.A. (DRA, Lome (Togo))
A nitrogen trial rate was conducted in South East of Togo on depleted infertile red soil which had been cropped with cassava and maize production. Levels on nitrogen were 0, 60, 120, 180, 240 kg/ha with N applied as urea. The results show that the rate of 120 kg/ha of nitrogen reduced the infestation of S. asiatica attack to 53 (%) of the check. With that rate of N the yield of maize increased to 132
