Thirty one sesame lines were investigated by the reaction to the wilt causing bacterium by planting them in concrete block containing soil uninfested and infested with P.solanacearum. In uninfested concrete block one month old seedlings were injected with bacterial suspension into stem axil. After inoculation for 15 days percent of dead plants varied from 70-100. Two sesame lines: TF-236-1 and MKS-L-82242 were classified as moderate susceptible line as the rest was susceptible. In infested concrete block, percent of dead plants was 16.7-79.5 Among the test lines, 1, 12, 16 and 2 sesame lines were classified as resistant, moderate resistant, moderate susceptible and susceptible lines respectively. The line exhibiting resistant inheritage was MKS-L-82189.
