Two new species of Chiloglanis are described from the Ruzizi Basin. Chiloglanis asymetricaudalis sp. n. is especially characterized by a forked asymmetric caudal fin, the superior fin lobe being longer than the inferior one; one or two rows of mandibular teeth are present, a complete row showing 7 to 10 teeth, and there are 4 to 5 rows of external teeth on the upper jaw; the skin of the head is almost completely smooth, even if very small rounded indistinct tubercles are present. Chiloglanis ruziziensis sp.n. on the other hand has a forked, almost symmetric caudal fin, there are 10 to 13 mandibular teeth in a complete row (one or two rows can be present), and 3 to 4 rows of external teeth are present on the upper jaw; the skin of the head is rather rough because of the presence of numerous tuberculated epidermal ridges. The coloration of each species is very peculiar and allows an easy separation from the other species described in the genus. Up to now these two new species are the only Chiloglanis known from the Ruzizi Basin: previous records of C. lukugae Poll, 1944 in the Ruzizi by Poll (1952 and 1953) and Marlier (1953) in fact concerned C. asymetricaudalis.
