Relationship between the light passage coefficient and the butter content of the milk

Spectral analysis is getting increasingly widespread with modern investigations on farming production. By using the optical properties of the projects a highly informative non destructive monitoring can be carried out. Quite a lot of information can be obtained through spectral analysis in describing complex probablistic systems as the biological ones are. The article presents some results from the spectrophotometry of cow's milk in the near infrared area. Theoretical models of the relationship between the optical coefficient of passage and the butterfat content of the milk are shown.
