Effect of reserve matters and the wintering technology on the wintering of carp fingerlings

During 6 years the wintering effectiveness of carp fingerlings was compared with the intensiveness of using reserve matters and various technologies of wintering. The best wintering results were obtained in the wintering house in the elongated plastic tanks at water temperature of 1-1.5 deg C. For successful wintering the optimum content of reserve matter is as follows: 22-23 per cent of dry matter, 13-14 per cent of raw protein, 5-6 per cent of raw fat. The results of wintering first of all depended on incressing the raw ashes content and least of all on decreasing the raw fat content during winter. The relative glycogen content in liver and index of liver do not correlate with the numerical losses in fish during winter, and therefore these indicators cannot be used for prognosticating the wintering results of carp fingerlings
