Effect of plant growth regulator IBA and NAA on growth and flowering of Chrysanthemum morifolium

Research development on Chrysanthemum morifolium as a cut flower have been intensively conducted. Recently some varieties have been introduced to the tropical climate, however, there are still some cultivation problems remaining to be solved. Propagation and disbudding are maintenance that have to performed for this kind of plants. Plant growth regulator, IBA and NAA, are expected to be able to induce rooting and shooting for shoot cutting. On the other hand, application of NAA on the right time will reduce latent bud that will lead to a desirable plant, a single flower plant. Combination of 10 ppm IBA and 10 ppm NAA have shown the best result on total number and length of roots, and more vigorous of Evory light cultivar. Although it was not statistically significant, that combination of treatment, shown to have more flowers. Application of 1000 ppm NAA on Born Holm was able to reduce and delay the number of latent buds up to 27.8 percent. Application of NAA also have shown to delay flowering and to shorter the internode, but the flower diameter remain unaffected. Application of NAA on the second weeks after planting have shown the most delaying of plant growth.
