Al-Fahady, N.H.A.
The present work involved the study of the toxic action of copper, zinc and chromium on the males of the fresh water amphipode Rivulogammarus syriacus. Effects of some factor such as water hardness, pH and temperature on the toxicity of these metals have been evaluated. In addition the effects of three metals on the rate of oxygen consumption and protein content has been also investigated. Finally the bioaccumulation and shedding of the metals as well as the effects of copper on the ultrastructure of gill cells have been also carried out
