Ectoparasitic protozoans of the gills of Clarias spp

Gills of 1,110 fish of Clarias species were examined for protozoan parasites. Henneguya had its highest infestation rate of 15.5 in fish from Bomo lake, majority of the fish infested with this parasite were Clarias anguillaris. The rate of infestation by Trichodina sp was 0.5. All infested fish were found in the dry season with the highest rate of infestation of 0.7 recorded in fish from River Galma
