The investigation were carried out during 5 years in 3 small catchments. The catchments had differentiated storage capacity dependent on area of lakes and ponds, density of the river network and afforestation. New methods of measurements and calculation of seepage losses from fish ponds were developed. Water quality in the investigated rivers oscillated between 1 and 3 classes (Polish standards), and rarely overpassed the classification range. Fish ponds' outless contained less concentrations of nutrients and total solids and a greater concentration of dissolved oxygen. Simultaneosly, a deterioration of water quality with respect to BODs was observed. A hydrologic model of catchment with ponds and example of simulation of runoff are presented
