Nineteen varieties of lentil were screened for their resistance to wilt disease in natural and artificial wilt epidemic conditions. As the recommended cultivar Simal and all the test varieties were found susceptible to wilt, it is concluded that more intensive cultivation of lentil in the hills of Nepal depends on the identification of varietal resistance against wilt
