Fertilizer trials on barley in northern Syria [Hordeum vulgare]

Seventy-five trials conducted over 4 years on farmers' fields in northern Syria indicated widespread barley responses to N and P fertilizer. Responses to P were most frequent in drier areas, while responses to N became larger and more frequent with increasing rainfall. Responses were influenced by the nature of the previous crop and by soil available N and P status at planting time
