Soil crust of 2 cm thick was induced on a Kampangsan soil. Some physical properties were evaluated for the horizontal slices of the crust and be compared to it's original soil. A noteworthy horizontal segregation of particle size into layers was observed. Test for corn seedling thrust was conducted using a perfect crust plate a different moisture. Seedling thrust, it's penetrating strength, and emergence energy of the seedling were simulated by the equations describing the dependence of strengths to crust moisture content as the penetrometer probe advanced through it.
