Mouth of the Thepa river was studied to be ecosystem and nursery ground of young Grouper Epinephelus spp. Grouper were collected at the same period of time as fishermen did by luring shrubs for two days during 17th-18th February 1986 and 12th-13th March 1986. Sampling water for analysis, collected zooplankton at the channel and in the luring shrubs, number of young Grouper and stomach contents in every 4 hrs. of one day (24 hrs.) were conducted for this study. The temperature of water, dissolved oxygen little decrease at nighttime, pH value nearly rather constant in one day (24 hrs.). Twelve groups of zooplankton were found at the channel containing mostly Copepoda, Sagitta sp., Ostracoda and Lucifer sp. respectively. Nine groups of zooplankton were found in luring shrubs, containing mostly Copepoda, Amphipoda, Megalopa and Shrimp, respectively. Stomach content of 1.5-6.5 cm grouper contains mostly Amphipoda, Copepoda, Shrimp and Brachyuran larva respectively. During 12.00 am - 09.00 pm most of the preys were found in the stomach content.
