Recommends chemical pest control as an important method of reducing crop loss due to pests and diseases. However, pest control is mainly a function of the cost of inputs such as chemical pesticides, it is thus not economical and practical to recommend the use of chemicals for every pest situation, hence the need to investigate pest control methods before recommending them to the farmers.
