The paper deals with the intensity of taking and placing calcium and magnesium at horizontal and vertical segments during the ontogenetic growth of a maize. It has been concluded that there is a difference in the content of Ca and Mg per particular leaf parts and their age groups. The minimal concentration of these elements is in leaf level, but it is higher towards the end of a lamina. The largest concentration of Ca and Mg is in the oldest leaf segments. The concentration of Ca is the least in the middle age leaves, while the concentration of Mg is the least in the youngest leaf group.
