Abduction and extension of the hip is often reduced and painful in patients with coxarthrosis. This is due to a contracture of the pectineus (abduction) and iliopsoas (extension) muscles. Pectineus myectomy and iliopsoas tenotomy bring about an improvement of the clinical state of the patients. This symptomatic therapy is relatively simple and constitutes a minimal invasion.
