Relationship between hormone level and developing stage of embryos in donor gilts during transgenic pigs program

Thirty six gilts were superovulated. The progesterone content was significantly correlated with the number of ovulation points (corpus luteum) (r1=0.4441, p0.01). There was no statistically significant correlation between progesterone level and the number of collected embryos (r20.05), but progesterone level was strongly correlative with the number of three to eight- cell embryos (r3=0.6692, p0.01). So, the progesterone content could be, to a certain extent, considered a parameter of embryonic stage
