Studies on fermentation of high beta-glucanase producing strain Bacillus subtilis 9126-6

The barley flour is the most favorable substrate for beta-glucanase production of Bacillus subtilis strain 9126-6. The medium prepared in proportion of barley flour 7%, corn meal 3% and soybean cake 5% as carbon and nitrogen sources at pH 7.0-7.2 for the fermentation production of beta-glucanase by B. subtilis 9126-6 with an incubation period of 3 days at 35-37 degrees centigrade under moderate agitation and aeration, the beta-glucanase activity of fermentation fluid reached 154 U/ml. The induction of barley beta-glucan for beta-glucanase production was also undertaken
