Effect of irradiation with 14 MeV fast neutron on contents of nucleic acids and soluble protein in wheat seedling

The contents DNA decreased strongly with increasing dose of fast neutron irradiation. The change of content of RNA was complicated. RNA content increased with the treatment of low dose and decreased with the treatment of high dose. RNase activity increased at the low dose of irradiation and decreased at the high dose of irradiation, indicating that the variation of RNA was related to the change in RNase activity.
