Yield losses of three different potyvirus strains (maize dwarf Potyvirus, MDMV-A, sugarcane mosaic virus MB and A strain, SCMV-MB and SCMV-A) were compared on two susceptible single cross maize hybrids in two different locations. Trials were carried out under natural infection pressure. The yield loss depended on the time of infection and the genotype used. Early infection caused more serious damage than late one
