Results of the research on the use of biohumus in agriculture

The reduction of the available barnyard manure in Latvia in the period of 1992-1994 is discussed. The effectivity of the sewage biohumus as an organic fertilizer for field and vegetable crops has been studied by the researchers of the LUA Crop Production Department. The biohumus produced with the use of the California red worm hybrid has been considered suitable for the industrial production of compost. The experimental data show the different reaction of varions crops to biohumus depending on meteorological conditions as well as on the rates and methods of application.
