Profile distribution of four micronutrients (Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu) in Kabacan sandy clay loam grown to calamansi after five years application of organic and inorganic fertilizer combinations

A Kabacan sandy clay loam soil grown to calamansi was applied every six months with increasing amount of organic and inorganic fertilizer combinations (0-100, 25-75, 50-50, 75-25, 100-0, 0-0) for five consecutive years. After five years, the concentration of iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), zinc (Zn), and copper (Cu) in the profile was determined. Correlation analysis between soil pH and soil organic matter (OM) content and the micro-nutrients was also done. Results of the study showed that the concentration of Fe, Mn, and Zn significantly decreased with soil depth (0-6, 6-12, 12-24, 24-36, 36-48, 48-60 inches). However, the application of organic and inorganic fertilizers either singly or in combination did not have significant influence on the micronutrient of the soil, there was a significant interaction noted between fertilizer and soil depth. OM was significantly correlated with Fe (r = 0.98** ), Mn (r = 0.98** ), and Zn (r = 0.91** ). Soil pH was significantly correlated with Fe (r = 0.96** ) and Mn (r = 0.91** ) but not with Zn and Cu. Copper increased with soil depth
