The meiotic indices of Pekin, Philippine Mallard, Muscovy and Pekin x Philippine Mallard did not differ significantly from each other. The meiotic index of the Laguna duck however was found to be lower (P0.01) compared to the other four genetic groups. The differences in mitotic indices between Philippine Mallard and Pekin, Pekin and Laguna duck, and Muscovy and Pekin x Philippine Mallard were not significant.
