Observational trials of sweetpotato clones in rainfed lowland postrice condition in Garut and Kuningan, West Java [Indonesia]

Two sets of observational trials were conducted in Garut and Kuningan districts, West Java involving 106 and 229 clones, respectively. Each clone was planted in a single-row plot consisting of 20 plants. Two check clones, BIS 183 and a local variety, were planted at intervals of 15 plots in Garut and Kuningan, respectively. The traits recorded include plant survival, skin and flesh color, oxidation rate of roots after cutting and root dry matter content. Selection was conducted visually by comparing the test clones with the nearest check. Five clones - A 02, A 100, A 247, N 132, and N 134 - performed well in both locations and were selected for further testing
