The contents of Cd, Cu, Pb, Zn in fruits and vegetables from the emission region of Copper Foundry "Glogow" were determined by means of atomic absorption spectrophotometry. 10 species of fruits and 5 species of vegetables were investigated. The contents of Cu and Zn were within the accepted limits, but in the case of Cd the limit was exceeded in the peelings and leaves of carrot and beets. The highest pollution of fruits and vegetables was caused by Pb and its content limit was exceeded over two times in the case of such fruits like peaches, black currant and apples. Much higher concentration of heavy metals was found in the peels and leaves of studied fruits and vegetables than in their parenchyma
