The technological value of sugar beet roots of distinguished fractions (300, 301-600, 601-900, 910-1200 and 1200 g) depending on the nitrogen fertilization was investigated and the yield of sucrose and its content in roots was determined against the background of the sowing way. The best technological value showed the roots of the fraction 601-900 g, somewhat worse than the fractions 301-600 and 901-1200 g. The nitrogen fertilization led to a reduction of the sucrose percent, irrespective of root weight
