Occurrence, distribution and population of game mammals in the Polish Carpathian Mountains

The study was carried out in 1980-91. Two methods were used: snow tracking and questionnaires. On the basis of the data the detailed maps were drawn showing the occurrence of 16 species of the tested mammals. The research showed that in the region under consideration virtually all medium and large mammals of this biogeographical sphere could be found.
