In order to investigate economic weed control, fields experiments were conducted at three experimental stations during 1990-92 to evaluate selected herbicides at low doses and applied in different times. The results demonstrated that outstanding weed control can be achieved by the use of low doses of herbicides applied at the proper time. In this program utilization of herbicides, which control all weeds in a sugar beet field is required. Spraying both of pre- and post-emergence herbicides at very early stages of weed growth (i.e. cotyledon stage) is critical for the success of this program. Compared to traditional systems of weed control the major adventage offered by this program is the reduction in cost of weed control by approximately 20-30 percent
