The B variant of bovine kappa-casein (CASK) is reported to be favourable for milk quality and considered to be included in breeding strategies of dairy cattle. Therefore, fast and efficient PCR-based methods for discrimination between CASK variants may become economically important. The results from the CASK genotyping of 139 Polish Black-and-White bulls with different share of Holstein-Friesian blood are reported. The allele frequencies for CASK A and B were 0.763 and 0.237, respectively. There was observed that the CASK B allele frequency decreased with an increase in the share of Holstein-Friesian blood in the analysed bulls
