In a herd of cows of the same age kept under uniform environmental conditions, various beta-lg and kappa-cn genotypic groups was traced in the successive stages of lactation 1, 2 and 3. When considering the polymorphic beta-lg system it was found that a group of beta-lg BB homozygotes has a lower milk yield and lower milk acidity, coagulation and heat stability indices. The kappa-cn polymorphism manifested itself in a higher productivity of cows with AA kappa-cn and AB kappa-cn genotypes, a higher protein content in the milk of kappa-cn AB and kappa-cn BB cows as well as higher citric acid and phosphorus contents in the milk of cows with BB kappa-cn genotype
