Species relationships in genus Lens as indicated by electrophoresis - a reappraisal [Lens culinaris]

The seed proteins of Lens culinaris ssp. culinaris, L. culinaris ssp. orientalis, L. culinaris ssp. odemensis, L. nigricans ssp. nigricans and L. nigricans spp. ervoides were electrophoretically analyzed on SDS-PAGE. The electrophoretic bands or characters were numerically analyzed using cluster analysis. Results showed that L. culinaris ssp. orientalis and L. culinaris ssp. odemensis are probably the gene pool of the wild progenitor of L. culinaris ssp. culinaris
