Winter wheat straw and clover residues mineralization has been evaluated by measuring CO2 emanation during 5 years in a microfield experiment. In the course of observing the decomposition process and applying mathematics fractioning, 4-5 organic compounds with different stability, have been discovered; they were described by a first-order equation comprising mineralization constants 0.15-1.67 x 10** (-4)/day** (-1). With the decrease of C/N ratio caused by nitrogen application to the straw, the mineralization rate increased by 1.5 times. The proportion of straw with semi-decomposition periods equal to 14-22, 68-108, 416-642 days was 6-6.5, 22-23, 71 -71%, respectively. Fraction with quick mineralization (semidecomposition period 5 days) made up 6% total clover residues. Soil organic matter proved to be the least susceptible to biodegradation as compared to other study objects
