Study of lactic acid bacteria in hen manure for improving animal feed quality
1987
Adisak Taneepan
Lactic acid bacteria were isolated from 30 samples of hen manure. They were Streptococcus faecium, Lactobacillus fermentum, and Lactobacillus bulgaricus. Using lactic acid bacteria as inoculum in the medium composed of 15 % rice bran, 2 % soy bean residues, 33 % manure and 50 % water, medium crude protein was increased 5 %. The fermentation products are good for using as animal feed supplement.
