Study of alpha-tomatine content in four tomato varieties

Alpha-tomatine content found in leaves of tomato varieties L22. Sida M.K.M. Din-Dang and Kasetakorn were 18.23, 16.22, 6.75 and 30.07 mg/gm dry weight and in fruits were 3.22, 2.84, 2.71 and 3.51 mg/gm dry weight respectively. Productivity in the 4 varieties were 1158.11, 1252.63, 998.3 and 1173.34 gm/plant. Result could not conclude clearly for the relationship between alpha-tomatine content and productivity.
