Irrigation scheduling determination of tomato according cycles

A field experiment with sprinkler and furrow irrigation according to soil moisture at the technical minimum of 80 of FWC (field water capacity) showed that furrow irrigation gave yield of tomato significantly higher than sprinkler irrigation. Water consumption on evapotranspiration for tomato was at same level of 450-520 mm. It can be considered that this is tomato water requirement under the climatic conditions of Vojvodina (Yugoslavia), as that level was established at pre-irrigation soil moisture which is a lower limit of optimum soil moisture for tomato. Average daily consumption of water during the growing period ranged from 3.4-4.5 mm, while the maximum was 8 mm. Irrigation scheduling of tomato according cycles were established in modified form.
