Changes of nitrogen rate in the soil, plant, and peach yield as affected by the time of nitrogen fertilizer application

All trial variants were fertilized with complex fertilizers in autumn and time application of the added nitrogen fertilizer varied. The high supply of available nitrogen in soil is achieved by applying the total dosage of nitrogen of 158 kg/ha. The repeated application of nitrogen achieves more balanced supply of nitrogen in the soil during vegetation period. The leaching of nitrogen during autumn and winter periods was not high most probably because of less precipitation. In all the phenophases and variants the nitrate form of nitrogen was dominant. Fertilizing in all variants resulted in optimal nitrogen content in the leaves of peach trees. Different times of nitrogen application affected peach-tree yields and trunk circumference growth, but the differences were not statistically significant.
