Conversion ratio of feeds and nutrients in exploitation of Black and White cows

The conversion ratio of feeds and nutrients in exploitation of Black and White cows was investigated. The investigation was performed on the farm with (a number of) 1200 Black and White cows improved with Holstein genes. Cow feeding was divided in two periods: summer and winter. Daily intake as a year's average value was 18.28 kg of dry matter, 2095 g of digestible crude protein and energy 147.60 MJ NEL. The conversion of dry matter and energy into kg of milk was uniform in two periods of observation, but with digestible protein it was different and much larger in summer than in winter.
