Certain possibilities for the replacement of fish meal with yeast in diets for the feeding of fattened chicks

Yeast with 60 of protein has an amino acid content similar to the fish meal, with the exception of three amino acids: methionine, cystine and tyrosine, whose content is significantly lower compared to fish meal. This yeast, with additional synthetic methionine, can successfully replace up to 75 of fish meal, on isoprotein basis, in diets for fattening chicks. Complete replacement of the fish meal with yeast (100) in diets for the feeding of fattened chicks leads to lower gain and weeker feed conversion with regard to the chicks that were fed control diets.
