A stationary field trial was conducted on a calcareous chernozem soil for three years to investigate the effect of increasing nitrogen doses applied with and without incorporation of straw on the content of amino acids in wheat and maize grains. The application of nitrogen and incorporation of harvest residues (straw) increased the total content of essential and non-essential amino acids in wheat and maize grains. At that, the contents of different amino acids did not increase proportionally. The partial correlation coefficient showed that in the total effect of the treatment applied, the straw incorporation contributed with 1.74 to 5.76 percent and nitrogen application with 94.04 to 97.81 percent.
