Effect of potato manuring and fertilizing on the content and yield of starch

According to starch content in tubers potato, potato variety Desiree belongs to the sixth quality group (there are seven quality groups) indicating high content of starch in this variety, which ranges from 18-20. Starch content is a stable characteristic of the variety and this study proved that fertilization and irrigation have no significant effect on the percent increase or decrease of starch. However, fertilization and irrigation indirectly increase the yield of starch per area unit, increasing the yield of potato.
