Pyrethroids are sprayed on barks of trap-trees against outbreaks of Ips typographus. This paper presents two experimental studies to assess the wash-off resistance of pyrethroids. The first one was realised on glass plates to assess the influence of vinyl polymers added to permethrin spraying mixtures. The second was realised on barks of spruce and compared two pyrethroids, permethrin and lambdacyhalothrin. For each study, five types of rain simulations have been tested. Contrarily to observations on glass, results on barks of spruce have shown that abundant rainfalls giving rise to running on trunks don't risk to wash significantly pyrethroids deposits and consequently to compromise the efficacy of treatments.
