In the present paper, a survey is given on the origin, traits and improvement of the blue-Belgian cattle. The breeding efficiency, fattening ability, feed conversion, conformation characteristics and slaughter value are treated in this publication. Author gives also information on the Belgian selection and breeding efficiency estimation methods as well as on the crossing experiments carried out with this breed
