The components of quantitative resistance to Cercospora canescens in Vigna radiata and Vigna mungo were determined. Results showed that V. mungo had lower final disease severity (6-12 percent) compared to V. radiata cultivars (100 percent). Resistance significantly prolonged the incubation period by 1-4 days, delayed latent period by 1-4 days, reduced lesion size by 2.79-58.59 percent and lesion density by 29-98-46.76 percent, reduced sporulation capacity by 24.31-54.97 percent, shortened infectious period by 11-14 days or and delayed defoliation by 18-21 days. The components were significantly correlated but the degree of association varied
