Effects of pre-sprouting and PE [Polyethylene] film mulching on the processing quality of potato tubers cv. Superior

This experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of pre-sprouting and poly-ethylene (PE) film mulching on the processing quality of potato cv. Superior. PE film mulching increased tuber yield, dry matter content and specific gravity, but decreased reducing sugar content. These parameters were not affected by pre-sprouting of the tubers in moist sand before planting. In Korea's spring crop, the processing quality of potato tubers was improved gradually until 100 days after planting, and declined thereafter
